Range

A statistical measure of variance. It is calculated by subtracting the lowest score from the highest score and then adding one (i.e., range = (highest score – lowest score) +1). For example, let us say that the highest score in an introduction psychology course was a 98 and the lowest score was a 43. The range would be 56.
